Eternal Wanderers and a Late Afternoon Walk

Is there a better name for a Neo-Prog Group to Power a Walk than Eternal Wanderers?
The Walk

So yesterday I actually got off my butt again and went for a walk! This one was a 3.1 mile walk at pace of 15:20 /mile which means the walk lasted 47 minutes and 34 seconds! Not bad overall, so it looks like one more walk tomorrow and then maybe I’ll try to run on the weekend! The soundtrack for the run was a Neo-Prog band Eternal Wanderers.

A Morning Walk powered by Blues of Desperation

Yeah I got off My Butt and went for a walk, listening to Blues of Desperation from Joe Bonamassa

The calender that  I created yesterday says that I was scheduled to run between 5:30 and 6:30 tonight. But when I checked the weather forecast for today, I saw that it was probably going to be raining at that time. As a result, I decided to move the run to 10 o’clock this morning. I also made another change, I decided to walk instead of run. Since I have been having problems lately with my ears being clogged, I thought I would walk to Dollar General and get some ear wax removal medicine.I knew based on my running courses, that I could walk a course that would make the walk about a mile.

Myrath – Legacy

Myrath – Legacy – Progressive Metal – Tunisia

So around eleven o’clock this morning I thought it was to stop pounding on the computer keyboard and get up and get something done around the house In doing so, I decided to put on some progressive rock. I chose Legacy from Myrath. The album has been in my music rotation for about a week now and I like it more and more each time I listen to it!

Myrath is a progressive metal band from Tunisia. Yes, you read that correctly Tunisia. I first listened to the band back in 2013 two years after the release of their third album 2011’s Tales of the Sands. I really liked that album with it;s blending of progressive metal and Middle Eastern music. It was really a sound that I had never heard before.  Like many of Myrath;s fans I have been eagerly waiting for the release  a new album and Legacy appear to be worth the wait!!

Mystery – Delusion Rain – Canada – Neo-Prog

I haven’t visited the site – progstreaming.com lately, but I thought tonight would be a good night for some prog rock, so I took a trip to the site to check out the latest albums. When I search through prog albums by artists I don’t know (that’s most of them at progstreaming), the first albums that I give a listen to are the one’s whose albums covers look the most interesting. One of the album covers that caught my eye was from the band Mystery and their album Delusion Rain. Within the first few minutes of listening to the album, I knew I was going to like this band! Nice guitar, nifty vocals with words that I can actually understand and very melodic music. I was actually not surprised, when I went to ProgArchives, that the sub-genre of the band’s music was neo-prog, sometimes bordering on symphonic.

Jason Marsalis – Vibes the Marsalis Way!!

Jason Marsalis :Vibraphone Born: March 4, 1977

So a while back I came across the album In a World of Mallets by Jason Marsalis. I listened to the album because the lead instrument was a vibraphone and not because of the name Marsalis. In fact I didn’t even make the connection until today, when I was reading about Jason, who is celebrating birthday thirty-ninth (39) Soon, ,when I read that Jason was in fact the youngest of the famous Marsalis family led by father Ellis and includes brothers Wynton, Bradford and Delfeayo! I felt a little better when I read at All About Jazz that…..

More Guitars than Friends – Anni Piper

More Guitars than Friends from “Australia’s First Lady Of The Blues.” – Anni Piper

Anni Piper - More Guitars Than FriendsThis morning I decided to start my week with a little blues. I reviewed the Roots Music Report Blues Chart and came away with six albums that I wanted to listen to this afternoon. Anni Piper was  the artist who came first alphabetically. Anni’s latest release More Guitars than Friends, currently sits at number 29 on the chart up from 45 last week. How could I go wrong with an album title like that!!

The Track One Introduction….

My decisions about whether or not I will like and album are often made by listening to the first few minutes of the first song on the album. In the case of More Guitars than Friends, the first song is “Wonder Woman” which just blew me away. Strong music from the bass to the guitar and then Anni’s sultry voice sounded just right to me.

Votum – Atmospheric Progressive Metal – Poland

So this afternoon I decided to explore some new progressive rock releases. So I went to New Prog Rock Releases and started looking. First I checked out  from France – Far From Your Sun and their album “In The Beginning… Was The Emotion”,. I gave it a quick listen and thought their music sounded promising but I moved on. The second band was an  “Atmospheric Progressive Metal” band Votum. Their latest release in titled T:Ktonik: I found this album really interesting and ended up listening to the whole album, and followed up with a trip to ProgArchives to find out more about the band!

Thoughts About Mindfulness and Mystical Morning..

Lead to New Directions for My Blogs and a Mystical Morning Commute!

The other morning while meditating my mind turned toward my blog and I thought of my blog in relationship to my body mind and spirit. Much of what I try to do during the day is directed at one of those three aspects of life. Whether it’s trying to enrich and keep my mind sharp by reading, exercising and eating right to help my body and meditating and listening to New Age music to lift my spirit, the actions I take revolve around these aspects of life. Anyway what I am going to try for a while is to keep this blog oriented toward the rejuvenation, and revitalization of my mind, body and spirit,
